Sparrow’s Nest is a 501(c)3 charity whose mission is to cook and deliver homemade meals to families facing a cancer diagnosis in Dutchess, Putnam and parts of Orange, Ulster and Northern Westchester counties.
Founded in 2012, the charity feeds an average of 300 people each week; more than 2,000 individuals since our inception.
In order to qualify for our services, individuals must:
- live within a 35 mile radius of our Wappingers Falls kitchen.
- have children 18 or under living in the home and,
- be actively receiving chemotherapy, radiation and/or surgery as a result of a cancer diagnosis.
Qualified individuals are never turned away and, as word of our mission spreads, the need for our services continues to expand.
Our mission is to provide and expand support for programs and services for victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault , elder abuse and human trafficking. We accomplish this providing a safe place where victims can receive coordinated and accessible free services. Services it supports include individual counseling, advocacy, legal assistance, peer support and other holistic opportunities to heal. Save
