Christine Barnes’ Special Effects with Color! will now consist of two engaging sessions instead of three\, and the fee has been reduced to $50 for members and $75 for non-members. Each session lasts three hours and will be recorded\, so you can revisit the content for at least one week. \nCHRISTINE BARNES – Special Effects with Color \nVIRTUAL via Zoom  – This is a multi-day Zoom workshop of two 3 hour color study sessions\n$50 members \nZoom 1 — TRANSPARENCY—the illusion that one color is lying on top of another and where they cross\, there is a third color.\nThursday\, 22 January 2026 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm ET \nZoom 2 — LUMINOSITY—the illusion of a light coming from beneath the surface.\nThursday\, 29 January 2026 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm ET \nJoin us for an in-depth exploration of the vibrant world of color using just paper\, glue\, and fabric from your very own stash. Learn how to use the color wheel to create fresh\, unexpected color combinations. See how color affects texture and pattern. Learn about “magic fabrics” that give a quilt light and vitality. Some effects suggest light coming from below the surface (luminosity) or bouncing across the surface (luster). Others imply that see-through colors overlap to create new color mixtures (transparency).
