In this class\, we’ll also discuss thread and needle selection\, along with tips for choosing free-motion quilting patterns that best complement your piece. You’ll leave with practical techniques and greater confidence to enhance your appliqué and quilting projects. \nPatterns and Kits:\n• Select from the pictured patterns:  Folk Art Bunny or Baltimore Album style state block for New York or Connecticut\n• Kits are required. Kits includes starch pens\, fray check dispenser\, miniature glue bottle\, file\, toothpicks and the pattern of your choice (or can use your own pattern).  *** Bunny Kit is $20\, State Kits include pre-made freezer paper templates and cost $25.\n• Feel free to bring your own applique pattern\n• ALL STUDENT MUST SELECT A PATTERN PRIOR TO CLASS. \nFabric Required: (see pattern photos for color ideas)\n• Batiks are the best fabrics to use\n• Background and backing: ½ yard each\n• A variety of batik scrapes in green\, browns\, white\, pinks\, blacks and brunt orange (see pattern photos for color selection ideas).\n• Border: ¼ yard\n• Binding: ¼ yard\n• 25” square of wool batting \nSupplies / Tools:\n• Pencil\n• Frixion disappearing ink pen\n• Iron – Clover Small Wedge Iron\n• Cheri’s Cool Tool (highly recommended for the state blocks)\,   link www.cheriscrystals.com/shop/c/p/Cheris-Cool-Tool-6-Tips-Included-x990731.htm\n• 1 glass jar 5-6 inches tall\n• Hand oven mitten\n• Small wool ironing mat (9” square is a perfect size)\n• Stiletto\n• Applique pressing cloth or parchment paper\n• Fiskars 4-inch curved scissors\n• ¼ inch thick foam core board (24X36) cut in half.
