DESCRIPTION:This is a Zoom event.\nThe zoom link will be emailed to registered participants a few days before.\n\nBusiness meeting generally starts at 6pm\, arrive earlier for sign-in\, refreshments and socializing\, with any lecture generally at 7pm.\nGuests are always welcome\, there is a guest fee\, $10\, which can be credited toward membership – click HERE for more information. \n\n\nLecture: Color My Quilt – Dee Christopher\n\nIn our time together we will be taking a look at the color wheel and the language of color to give as a base for choosing the fabrics for your quilt. We will move on to the fundamentals of designing or choosing fabrics for your project\, the fun part.  We will look at our quilt composition and my rules for choosing fabrics which includes texture\, scale\, balance and how to mix print types and using solids.\n\nI am a wife\, mother\, grandmother\, mother-in-law\, aunt\, sister-in-law\, friend\, teacher\, creator and designer. I love people and helping them develop their skills and personal style. Especially with my quilt teaching I have had the privilege of watching people find their creative voice as well as fostering friendships that quilting naturally inspires. My personal mission is to share my love of quilting and creating in a straightforward and relaxed atmosphere. When teaching\, my goal is to educate and encourage those interested in quilting as clearly and simply as possible. I find both venues fun\, inspiring and stimulating. My work can be seen in Alex Anderson’s books\, “Keep Quilting” and “Neutral Essentials” with Alex Anderson and on The Quilt Show every Saturday. Personally\, whether alone or with others\, I find my time quilting to be special and rejuvenating. Creatively\, I enjoy the challenge of creating new patterns with a traditional spin. Together these two aspects of quilting make a perfect blend for a life journey.

It takes the guesswork out of coordinating your fabric colors. \nSupply List \n3 in 1 Tool from C&T Publishing (Can be purchased on Amazon) \nDouble sided fusible – I prefer Steam a Seam lite but feel free to use what you like best \nA backing fabric the size you would like your finished wall hanging to be.  I made mine 12″ x 30″. \nBatting \nIron and ironing mat or board. \nAn array of light\, medium and dark fabrics from the 3 in 1 card you will receive from Kathy Tuttle when you sign up for the class. \nSewing machine \nPins \nScissors – I like the Karen Buckley scissors for cutting out the pieces but you may bring whatever you have. \nFreezer paper \nAfter the lecture presentation at the Guild meeting you will have a better idea of the fabrics you will need to bring for class once you understand how the 3 in 1 tool can help you choose fabrics for a quilt.
