NSQG runs an annual fundraiser whose net proceeds benefit a local not-for-profit charitable organization selected each year by Guild members.
The prize is a bed-sized quilt made by Guild members, displayed at our May Quilt Show.
Donation $5 for each 6-ticket booklet.
Tickets are available starting 6 months before the drawing, held at our May Guild Meeting.
You do not need to be present to win.
The North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps has been a supporter of Comfort Quilts and other guild activities, allowing the use of their facilities, for over 10 years. NSVAC was established in 1969 to provide emergency services. It was started with one ambulance and a handful of volunteers whose main mission is to support 911 calls for local residents. As people continue to move to the area, call volumes have steadily increased. In 2022, NSVAC responded to 693 calls. In addition to a shortage of volunteers, there is a need to continually raise funds to meet training requirements and expenses. Funding is through donations and patients’ bills and a portion of the town budget, depending on fundraisers and community outreach to balance the budget. NSVAC hopes to expand their volunteer base and fundraising efforts to keep up with the growing needs of the community. They remains committed to their mission and the community and extend appreciation to all supporting those efforts.
This year’s bed-sized quilt, ‘Parfait’, was designed and coordinated by Carol Auer and Karen Carlson. The quilt was pieced using hand-dyed Cherrywood cotton fabrics and hand-quilted by Guild members.

– If you or a group of friends are interested in overseeing the design and construction of a future fundraising quilt, the process is spread over almost two years with assistance from guild members:
– getting the design approved by the Board by the end of the current year guild season
– setting up for construction over the summer months
– overseeing the piecing, quilting, and binding thru the following year guild season and summer
– getting the quilt photographed over that second summer
– presenting the finished quilt to the membership at the second season September guild meeting.
