Show Raffle Quilt

raffle quilt copyOur raffle quilt for the 2017 Quilt Show, Blooming Star, will be on display at the November meeting.  This beautiful quilt, made up of stars and flowers, was constructed under the leadership of Angela Vertucci and professionally quilted in golden thread by Angela.  The quilt was made possible by the generous contribution of fabric by Stone Designs in Carmel, NY and batting by the Quilt Shop by Lois of Newtown, CT.

You will also be able to pick up your raffle tickets for Blooming Star, so that you may support Mt. Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry, our chosen charity for this year.  MKIFP, which is made up of 13 member congregations of various denominations, provides food each week to 270 families from Northern Westchester.

Holiday Boutique

Comfort Quilts will have a Batik Extravaganza, assorted novelties and notions at the November Boutique. Proceeds go to the Guild, so stop by and shop.

Quilt Show

2017-08-10T03:14:56-04:00Quilt Show|

This year we will have a special exhibit of quilts started in NSQG workshops or on Super Saturday.  The quilts in this exhibit will not be judged.  If you enter a quilt to be judged that was started in a workshop or on Super Saturday, there will be a sign next to it saying so.  We would like to highlight the exceptional teachers and workshops that our Guild has to offer.

Membership

Please stop by the Membership Table to sign-in and pick up your 2016-2017 Membership Directory at the November Meeting.

Super Saturday

Sign ups will begin at the November 15 Guild meeting.  A reminder that Super Saturday will be held at the Yorktown Presbyterian Church in Yorktown Heights on February 18, 2017.

This is a good time to get to know other Guild members in a smaller, productive and relaxed setting.  Lunch will be served, and we can guarantee members a fun and exciting experience.  You will also learn new quilting techniques from talented guild members.

Registration will continue at the December and January meetings.  Please contact Joan Weth if you have any questions.

Lancaster Trip

We will begin to take deposits and reservations at the November 15 Guild meeting. The trip is scheduled for Friday, March 31 to Saturday, April 1, 2017.  The cost of the trip is being finalized and will be known in time for the November meeting.

Join us  as we shop hop all day on Friday at Sauder’s, Zooks and more.  We will follow up the day of shopping with dinner at the famous Miller’s Smorgasbord and then staying overnight at the Fairfield Inn.  We will rise early to attend the Lancaster Quilt show before departing for home in the late afternoon.
