We are having a Quilt Festival!
This event will take place at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Mt. Kisco on Friday, October 9th and Saturday, October 10th (10am-4pm), open to the general public for a nominal fee.
We have found a beautiful venue to show off our beautiful quilts!
So while we are not having our World of Quilts Show this year, we are very excited to be having a FESTIVAL to celebrate our creations.
We will be displaying our quilts in the lovely Parish Hall at the Church. There will be a special guild Raffle Quilt as well as throw quilts and mini-quilts for sale. Viewers Choice Awards will be given and member docents will be available to talk about the quilts and various quilting techniques. We are not able to include categories, judging, special displays, library books for sale, food, or vendors.
Our goal is 80 quilts, only one quilt per member. Because of the limited space, most quilts must be no wider than 40”; only 4-6 larger quilts can be accepted up to a maximum of 90” x 90”. Online registration (members only) is available starting July 1st, click HERE.
We have a Quilt Festival Committee of 15 but we need volunteers! Volunteers are needed to help with set-up on Thursday, October 8th, with take-down at the end of the Festival on Saturday, and with various sitting jobs during the Festival days. Contact Nancy for further information.
As a bonus (and another way to draw people into our Festival), there will be tours of the building which church parishioners will handle. St. Mark’s was designed by a well-known architect, Bertram Goodhue, in the early 1900’s with several Tiffany windows and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
