President’s Message – 05/24

THE QUILT SHOW IS HERE!  “There’s no people like Show People.”  Not only are you going to see magnificent quilts but we are having an amazing program.  Irene Roderick will be presenting three unique lectures and don’t forget that the room will be filled with friends and family and other quilters.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Our May meeting on Wednesday the 15th will feature our annual Ugly Fabric Auction.  Bring your cash and be prepared for a great time!  The committee has told us the fabrics this year are going to be quite special.

There are still some spaces available for the Lancaster trip.  If you are still sitting on the fence about this, the time is now. Bring your checkbook to the quilt show as we will have a booth there for sign-ups and hope to finish filling up the bus.

There is NO Show N Tell and NO Free Table at the May meeting since we have so much going on – our annual voting meeting plus our regular business reports, the charity raffle drawing, and  the ‘Ugly Fabric’ Auction.
Save everything for next time, thank you.

  • Retreat Signups
    Our first retreat for next year is scheduled for Tuesday November 5 – Thursday November 7 at the Center at Mariandale, Ossining NY.  It’s a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in what you love and be surrounded by others who love the same.  A two night, six meal stay costs $250.  There is also an option to be a “commuter” and forgo the overnight and receive two meals a day for $65 each day.  To sign up, contact Jody Sullivan at jodysull@optonline.net.

LAST CALL for returning your raffle tickets… the drawing is coming soon at our Guild meeting, Wednesday May 15th.

We meet Wednesdays from 9:30 to 1:30 at the North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 14 Daniel Rd, North Salem, NY.  Infrequently, meetings need to be cancelled or rescheduled at the last minute.  If in doubt or coming for the first time, please check.  You can stay for all or part of the time. Bring your sewing machine, and a light lunch if desired.  Kits, fabric, and basic quilting tools are available for your use.

Comfort Quilts welcomes all interested NSQG members, so consider joining us!

Whether you’re a new or renewing member, check out our Buddy Program if you would like to be a ‘buddy’ or have a ‘buddy’ to show you the ropes around the guild.  Remember to pick up your name badge at the check-in table or make your own NSQG fabric name badge, pattern HERE.

If you know any member of the guild who is in need of a little ‘sunshine’ for illness, sympathy, or any other reason, please contact secretary@northernstarquilters.com so the guild can send a card.

Requests on how to make a donation to the guild to honor a member or support an activity are occasionally received. Such requests may now be accomplished via the DONATE box on our website home page, click on Make a Donation.
