Comfort Quilts will have its last Winter meeting at the North Salem Ambulance Corps on May 22nd. The Summer meetings start June 5th at B’nai Yisrael, 2 Banksville Rd, Armonk with meetings every Wednesday through August.

2020 Raffle Quilt Charity
There was only one application to sponsor the 2020 Raffle Quilt Charity; therefore no vote is needed. The Board has approved New Dawn Family Resource Center sponsor by Jodi Sullivan as our Charity. Its mission is “to provide and expand support for programs and services for victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault, elder abuse and human trafficking in the northeast corner of Westchester County.” While Westchester County is home to many quality support services, they are all located geographically in the southern part, and it is often difficult or impossible for victims to travel to where those services are offered. Unfortunately there is a need for these services in our community and New Dawn is looking forward to working with NSGQ to support the organization.

Follow this quilt at our Quilt Show and you will arrive at the Comfort Quilt Exhibit. A wonderful sampling of the many beautiful and colorful Comfort Quilts will be on display. Thank you to all members who made quilts or donated fabric making it possible for NSQG to give comfort to those in need.

Raffle Tickets – Tickets for the 2019 grand prize quilt, Jack’s Chain, will be available at the November Guild Meeting. Please pick up your Raffle Ticket Packet and support this year’s nominated charity La Dulce Esperanza, a summer camp for the children of migrant workers.
It’s that time of the year again!
Roll Your Own – Every year, Comfort Quilts has a Summer Project. This year Carol Auer and Karen Carlson created jelly rolls of our favorite colors to be transformed into beautiful quilts. At our October meeting you may be one of the lucky members who gets to select from the many quilts created as part of the “Roll Your Own Project” by taking a chance on the Winner’s Choice Raffle. Winners can select as their prize any of the quilts that are exhibited on the wall in the cafeteria . The more tickets that are sold the more quilts will be raffled. Proceeds go to support the Guild and its activities. Raffle tickets will be 1 for $1 or 10 for $5.
Remember to return the log cabin blocks at the October meeting.

2020 Show Charity Raffle Quilt: Pat Julian, the raffle quilt coordinator, will be giving out 120 block kits for the quilt. If you would like to be a part of this project, pick up a kit or two of these log cabin blocks and return them at the October Guild meeting.
